Ma Tou Yan Chunzhong Da Hong Pao
马头岩纯种大红袍
Very different than our other Chunzhong Da Hong Pao - this is not a zuhuo roast tea, but a very solid medium roast. Medium roast, charcoal is present as a toasted rice or straw drawing into a deep mineral finish. Creamy, orchid fragrance, soup is smooth with a strong returning sweetness.
My sister introduced me this year to one of her friends who is from the Zhengyan area. We went to their house (they don't have, nor need a shop) and tried seven teas to get a feeling for their style. This tea is one of two we selected this year for our shop. I'm looking forward to visiting again in the future.
