Lao Cong Shui Xian
老枞水仙
Lao Cong Shui Xian means “old tree shui xian” which is prized for the particular fragrance associated with old trees, a gentle wood and lichen that is referred to as cōng wèi. My aunt’s Lao Cong is my favorite tea. This is dependable; consistent year to year. It is the tea I make when I’m having a bad day or preparing for a long drive. I’m sure nobody else will taste this, but for me this tea always tastes like home.
Dry leaf is calm, pleasant. Soup is immediately blossoms with the rich fragrance of the old trees: warm floral notes blended with the wood and lichen characteristic of old trees.
