Hui Yuan Lao Cong
This Lao Cong is from Hui Yuan Keng (慧苑坑). Dry leaf is woody, warm. Soup is intensely woody and thick. The medium roast is deep and pairs well with the character of the old trees.
When you are done with this tea, don't toss it out yet. The spent leaves boil nicely. I put 8g in a 1.5 liter kettle and boiled it for a while. The golden brew retained much of the good parts of this tea without very much of the sometimes soapy boiled yancha flavor.Note: Two different bag designs are shown in the photos. The majority of the bags are handwritten calligraphy, but there was a bit more tea than we had bags made. Once we run out of the handwritten bags we will ship the printed ones.
